Ate here on a Friday night with my son. All the food was excellent (Mahi Mahi and the Poutine as an app). Cool atmosphere-quaint little place. Plworkers in the kitchen greeted us as we walked in and the we sat upstairs. Service upstairs was friendly.

This restaurant far exceeds what I expect in a town as small as Lanesboro. Great ingredients and presentation. We had a large party and had an exceptional experience. Menu changes often so may not be relevant when others visit, but the mushroom soup, green been app, beef bourguignon, tortellini, and the burgers were all fantastic. I respect their creativity in making the most out of it to bring this quality of dining experience to a small town. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Juniper's is such a great place to spend an evening or afternoon in Lanesboro. The food is phenomenal! They're raising the bar of quality and taste with a menu that's always got something classic and something fun and new. GET THE MUSHROOM SOUP and the cauliflower. You will not regret. I love taking my family and friends from out of town because it's such a relaxing, BEAUTIFUL place to enjoy the Root River on the patio, and their gorgeous planters create the best vibe. The staff is always helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to ensure guests are happy. Ame and Tyler are passionate, driven owners whose dedication to making your experience wonderful cannot be overstated. Highly recommend to cap your fun Lanesboro adventures!

Best meal south of the cities. My husband and I shared a huge yellowlfin tuna steak that was wonderful. Seasoned to perfection and capped with a delicious mango salsa. What I appreciate most, however, is Chef’s attention to vegetables. The side of fresh summer squash, corn and tomatoes was so delicious and simple— one of the hardest things to pull off. Too often veggies hide under sauce or cheese. Not these. The gigante beans, Quinoa rice side was equally tasty. And the fresh green bean appetizer?? Wowza. Done in the style of Chinese long beans these were mildly fried, savory and tende. I can’t wait for the next special “special !” Service is very friendly, setting is sweet. The only fair to middling note was the peach pie. Great crust but not enough peach filling or peach taste.

Lovely dinner tonight at Juniper's. The tortellini were soft pockets of cheese with San Marzano red sauce and 2 yummy pieces of garlic bread. So satisfying after a 10-mile bike ride. We also split a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie. Delightful. (I took a picture of the Triple Berry Pie since we scarfed ours down.) I took one star off for service only because the wine glass in which I received my Sauvignon Blanc was thick lipped and very small, making for a paltry pour. I should've said something. The young man who poured it may need more training. If you like food made from scratch with fresh ingredients, go eat at Juniper's.

I took my uncle to Juniper's for his 88th birthday, and we sat outside looking at the river. The staff and one of the owners were so lovely, wishing him a happy birthday. The other owner, the chef, we didn't get to meet, but he made both of us very happy! The food was delicious!

Juniper's is a charming little restaurant with great food in a scenic SE Minnesota location. Immediately alongside the Root River and the Root River Bicycle Trail, it has a stimulating outdoor setting. (Cyclists looked longingly at the food as they rolled by us.) My wife and I enjoyed delightful cocktails. I ordered Mahi-Mahi in a buerre sauce, which came with broccolini and fried wild rice. My wife ordered shrimp, which came with delicious risotto with mushrooms. Everything was cooked to a perfect degree. We shared a house salad ("the Hydro") that could not be beat for freshness and flavor. Everything deliciously prepared, the serving sizes were generous and right-sized (not just tasteless heaping mounds of food). For desert: strawberry-rhubarb pie and banana cream pie. Lanesboro is a great little town on the Root River that has made a specialty of small hotel/B&B accommodations in a beautiful valley setting, and capitalizing on the bicycle trail passing through the middle of Lanesboro. The restaurant choices are sparse, but Juniper's more than makes up for that in the quality of their food. Don't be fooled by the truncated menu you see online. This is "haute cuisine" in the countryside, people! Juniper's would be a star attraction to any large city's restaurant scene, and its "come as you are" ambiance is exactly right for a town economy based on outdoor recreation. Lanesboro and Juniper's is an easy day trip for anyone in the triangle: Twin Cities (2.25 hours)/Madison (3.5 hours)/Des Moines (3.5 hours), with many nature-based attractions along the way.

This place was so picturesque. The story behind the name being the owners daughter is super cute. The food was amazing. I absolutely loved the cheesecurds. The flavors of my Mahi Mahi were so good. It was a little too done for my taste but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved sitting by the river and watching people enjoy the trail. Definitely will be back again! I got other things I wanna try on the menu!!

Wonderful Lanesboro gem! Known for their mushroom soup - but everything is wonderful. We stopped for multiple evening dinners on our trip - Junipers kept us coming back. Have us the chance to try multiple entrees as well as some signature cocktails. The mushroom soup was better than advertised, the Mahi Mahi so good it was sold out mid-evening. Tortellini was over the top wonderful. Staff was fast and courteous, even taking time to explain the 18 month risotto aging process! Plenty of parking on street or in nearby Lanesboro public lots.
